Upcoming Events:
March for Meals

Broward Meals on Wheels is hosting our annual March for Meals campaign in March. We invite civic minded individuals, community leaders and businesses to "tour" Meals on Wheels by delivering or serving meals for one day in March to experience first hand the need in their community and what they can do to help.

Throughout the month, participating restaurants will also be helping raise awareness about Meals on Wheels by proudly displaying information about the services and programs in their businesses and accepting donations from their patrons.

For more information or to join our campaign contact Colleen at 954-731-8770 ext 6927 or cbrown@bmow.org

Upcoming Events:
Read to Feed Seniors

Each year Broward Schools are given the opportunity to participate in Read to Feed Seniors in the springs. The seven year old program offers students encouragement to read while giving them the opportunity to learn about the needs of seniors in their community and help.

This year, Broward Meals on Wheels are hoping to expand our school participation. Volunteers are needed to help contact and coordinate school programs. Call Colleen at 954-731-8770 ext 6927 for more information.

Who is eligible for Meals for Companion Pets?

  • Anyone already receiving another service from Broward Meals on Wheels.
  • Any homebound individual, who is unable to leave their home unassisted, and has no one to shop for their pet needs in Broward County. These individuals must be referred to us by a recognized service agency or social worker to verify their need.

What does Meals for Companion Pets Provide?

Because pets are sensitive to a change in diet, MFCP blends all of the donated pet food together to ensure that each animal receives a consistent diet. We cannot cater to special dietary needs of each pet. We will provide pet food for a maximum of two pets.

MFCP delivers the following:

  • For Dogs:
4 lbs of dry food and 6 large cans for every 10 lbs of dog each month
  • For Cats:
5 lbs dry food, 8 small cans of food and 10 lbs. of liter per cat each month
  • Bird food may be available

MFCP will not provide food for feral animals. We do not condone the feeding of stray or wild neighborhood cat populations.

How much does it cost?

All MFCP clients are asked to make a contribution toward the cost of their pet food each month. Minimum suggested contribution is at least $1 per pet.

Call 954-731-8770 ext 6936 or click below to set up pet food services.
